Mortice Lock

The lock case that sits inside the edge of the door. A sashlock has a latch and a bolt and works with a handle; a deadlock is bolt only.

• Check before ordering: the backset is the distance from the door edge to the centre of the keyhole or spindle. Measure it before you buy — E40, E45 and E50 are not interchangeable.
