Coach Bolts and Carriage Bolts

A coach bolt with a smooth domed head and square neck for fastening timber, gates, benches and general construction. The square section bites into the timber and helps stop the bolt turning while the nut is tightened from the opposite side. Choose the diameter and length for the joint and use a washer beneath the nut to spread the load.
