Spirit Level

Aluminium spirit levels with horizontal and vertical vials, for checking level and plumb on walls, floors, worktops, door frames, shelves and shelving. Available in lengths from 30 cm to 2 m and in several makes, including an industrial model with protective end caps.

• 30 to 60 cm: shelves, worktops and small jobs
• 80 cm to 1.2 m: doors, windows and frames
• 1.5 to 2 m: floors, screeds and long courses of blocks

A longer level gives a truer reading over a bigger surface, a shorter one fits tight spots. To check a level is accurate, read the bubble on a flat surface, turn the level end to end and read it again. The bubble should sit in the same place.
