Soldering Iron

Soldering irons for electrical and electronics work, from mains models to battery and rechargeable ones for small jobs. The 40 W suits wiring and connectors and the 60 W gives more heat for larger joints and terminals.

• The 3045 has adjustable temperature, 250 to 450 °C
• The 1620 runs on 3 AA batteries and includes a tin reel

Coat the tip with solder when it is new and again before putting it away. It stops the tip oxidising and makes it last much longer.
