A plug-in tester for UK 13 A sockets. Push it in and the neons tell you whether live, neutral and earth are where they should be — reversed polarity, a missing earth, a swapped neutral.

• Check before ordering: It confirms the wiring pattern at the socket. It is not a substitute for a proper installation test, and it will not detect a high-resistance earth.
